I am trying to knitt the North County Cotton Baby Sock from this website. I have turned the heel and made the gusset. How What? I don’t understand the pattern. I got this far by watching the video on this site. (which I love this website it’s the best) But how do I do the toe. Is there a video for that?
Thanks,
Wanda
New sock knitter needs help!
There’s not a video that I know of. What are you having trouble with?
With that video just the heel is really done. She does the kitchener stitch for the toe. Amy does a video in Advance Techniques for the kitchener stitich. If you buy her how to video it does show you how to fininsh the sock. I bought the video and love it, It saved my butt a few time when I was learning. In fact I still use it now after three years of knitting.
And practice, practice, practice for the kitchener I still have a heck of a time with it. I have to be all a lone when I do it. I do like the way it looks on the socks.
So good luck on doing your sock.
:waving:
Have you checked youtube for videos? Here is one on cast on and the kitchener stitch.
I go toe up so I’m not sure if this is a good explaiation or not but there are others.
Silver’s Sock Class teaches you how to do the grafting (Kitchener stitch) step by step, with pictures.

Good luck!
I don’t know what I am doing wrong. The sock was lopsided. And I didn’t sew the toe up good. Ended up ripping the whole sock out. I have done this more times than I can count. I just don’t understand. And I have a 6 year old daughter that wants mama to knit her a pair of socks. I was trying to practice on this pattern but I couldn’t do it. HELP! PLEASE!!
Never say couldn’t. I am sure after you practice enough times you will get it right. Follow Silver’s instructions and you will do well. Try making a sock with worsted weight yarn first. Perhaps then it will alo become clear to you.
