New here

i only just started knitting back in august and am now tackling a pi blanket for christmas. wondering if there is any thoughts about how many stches i can fit on a pair of 29" circular needles. worried i’m going to have to get another pair sooner rather then later. i know i will never fit all 576 stiches on these but can a fit 288 or so> what size will i need in order to fit 576?

any thoughts about this will be really helpful.

thanx!:

If you’re using bulky yarn it definitely won’t fit. If it’s fingering it might be fine. What does the pattern suggest?

You can use another circ the same size and use both together, or maybe look for a 40 or 47" needle.

I currently have 208 st of City Tweed HW on a 24" circ!
I love to work with them all jammed together. It’s easier to “queue” the stitches on the lefthand needle! Not as much tugging and pulling them up to the tip!

When I first cast on the 292 st, I used a 32". But as I worked the decreases up to the waist…I dialed down my cable length.

Oy vey! For 576 stitches on your blanket??? At least a 40"!
It will be nice and crammed!
