I want to make this hat for a friend for Xmas.
He’s a big Wallace and Gromit fan, and I want the hat to look like the hat worn by the penguin in “The Wrong Trousers.” (Feathers McGraw)
But what size needles are Number 9 is that 9mm or UK 9; (Which work out to be 3.75 mm)
And any less expensive yarn choices?
My guess is they mean size 9 needles although that seems large for DK weight yarn.
So that’s 3.75 mm?
:??
I like your sig, most of my projects come with free dog hair!
Here’s a few tools that may help with your knitting. US 9 is equal to metric 5.5. It’s all very confusing.

Many thanks: I’ll pu tbhise righ tinto my knitting bookmarks!
3.75mm is equivalent to size 5 in US sizes if memory serves.
