Need Pattern ASAP, Please!

My niece is having her 1st b-day party this Sat. and I have no money at all so I’m going to have to knit her something, sweaty hands or not…Does anyone have any suggestions for something I could knit up super quick that’s super easy? I was thinking a hat, but, it’s still too warm for a snuggly hat and I’d like for her to be able to use it now. I thought about socks, but, I have no girly sock yarn, just the yarn I used for my nephews socks…Maybe a super easy sun dress or something? And ideas or pattern links would be appreciated! Thank you!

Oh yeah, all I have is worsted weight acrylic yarns on hand.

This is a really neat summer dress… Just make sure to swatch. My 8 year old sibling got a dress instead of the 2 y/o cuz. :teehee: But I got another one made for her. I made the top part of one in less than 3 hours… Of course basic sewing skills are nessary. (I have those skills, and more… But no time, space or sewing machine set up at the time.

Hope this helps!

Aww, now that is too cute! Unfortunately, I don’t have any fabric :frowning: I have everything else though…lol…However, I bookmarked it and once I can afford some fabric, I’m sooo making that dress!

I’d check out knitting pattern central. I’ve found lots of cute baby things on there.

What about a teddy bear?

Yeah, I checked that but couldn’t find anything that really struck me…lol…I was hoping maybe someone had made something super quick and super easy that they could recommend.

This site has some cute things:

Anyway, if you click on sweaters, the Knitting Pure and Simple pattern seems easy enough.

Didn’t like the other ones? How about a ball? They don’t look hard and would require only small amounts of yarn. What baby doesn’t like to play ball? The last one is the smallest one I think.

What about knitting a little purse for her?

and maybe have a couple little ‘Jean Greenhowe’ toys in it?

they knit up really, really fast!

Thank you all for your suggestions! I think I found something though, it looks super easy and seems like it should be a very quick knit. A little skirt…lol

I also bookmarked a bunch of patterns you guys posted, will definitely come in handy for Christmas! :teehee:

Oh, that’s precious!

Aww. That is cute. Maybe you could make her a headband to match!

Oh, it’s soooo cute, Demonica! Good luck with it, and please post a pic when your done!

Ok, well, I got it almost all finished and man are my hands killing me! Took roughly 8 hours to do, but it turned out SO cute! I had to use the yarn I had on hand so I went with pink as the main color with white trim. The only thing I have left to do is seam it, but, I’m going to hold off on that until after the party tomorrow, in case I need to stretch it out a little by blocking it. I just found out today my niece is wearing size 18 months clothes and I started the skirt before my mom told me…lol…The skirt pattern is for 12 months. So, I figure I’ll see if the waist is close and if it needs a little stretching, block it then seam it up. I’ll definitely have a pic as soon as it’s all seamed, I’m really proud of this one!

One good thing about knitting for babies… they don’t know when their birthdays are so if you end up having to make something else it’s fine. :teehee:

 So true!

And, if it is still too small, well, I have a niece who’s about a month old so I’ll have a present for her when she turns 1…:teehee:

If it doesn’t work for the 1-year-old, you can always give it to the younger one for the holidays since those are only 5 months away. Then her mom can put it on her when she’s wearing 12 months. The 1 year olds I have experience with are usually wearing 18 months and up, but it depends on the item.

Love the skirt pattern btw!

Ok, well, it fit her so no need to stretch it out any! Woo hoo! When we got home from the party I seamed it up and took it right back…lol

I posted a pic in the Whatcha Knittin’ thread, you can click HERE to see it.
