Need opinion about embroidery on knit.

I knitted a sun top for a toddler and embroidered lazy daisy flowers on the front and was wondering, do you think I could cut squares out of iron-on patch and put them on the underside of each flower?

I am concerned that they won’t hold very well with washings, or a buckle might snag one of the yarn daisies. What do you think?

I knitted it with I Love This Cotton yarn.

I don’t think it could hurt, but at the same time, I don’t think it would be necessary: assuming the daisies are made from yarn, they’ll snag about the same as any other knitting. On the other hand, if you used embroidery floss, the extra protection would probably be a good idea.
