Need help working next row after YO

THat title is totally clear as mud. SOrry!

Row 1: X2, p2, YO, k1, YO, p2, X2
Row 2 and all even rows: work stitches as they appear.

I thought I could figure it out, but I am not sure how to work the YO stitches. I can see the other when they are knit or purled.

THANKS!

The YOs are probably worked as purl sts.

Hmm. I would have thought as knit sts.

Would you (or anyone else) mind doing a qhich sample and checking? …I’d hate to work so many rows and be wrong. That X2 stitch is had to tink.

Thanks!

I don’t know what an X2 st is or what the pattern’s supposed to look like. Do you have a picture at least, if not the pattern link? You should be able to tell from the picture if they’re knit or purled on the next row.

I’m curious too as to what that X2 stitch is. Never seen it in a pattern or ever heard anyone here mention it, but then again I’m still rather new.

Sorry about that…its the dindy beret hat by tot toppers and it’s the brim.

An x2 is knit into second stitch on LH needle, do not slide off needle. Knit into first stitch on LH needle, slide both stitches off needle. (It makes a tiny cable, I think.)

It might be ‘cross 2’ like a twist st or something.

I found pictures of it, you’re on the band, right…? Basically on the WS you need to make sure the k1 and the X sts are purls and the p2 knits. The YOs can be worked whichever looks better to you, but I think it looks like they’re purled.

It’s the Dindy Beret hat by Kate Oates and I am working on the brim.

Sorry about that! SHe calls a X2 a crossover: Knit into the second stitch on the LH needle, do not slide off needle. Knit into first stitch on LH needle, slide both sts off needle.

I think it makes a tiny cable.

start with nine stitches. After the first row there are 11, then work them even, but I can’t really see how to work the YO stitches. Honestly, several of the stitches seem hard to read.

OOPS! I didn’t see that my reply was posted previously!

Thank you again!

Thank you! I will try that and see how it looks. This is the first thing I’ve made with YOs.
