I am currently knitting a toy monkey and for the ears I am struggling to understand how to do row 2 (as below) because it says to do it 4 times but it seems there isn’t enough stitches to do it 4 times as I only have 5 stitches to work with from row 1 so I would be greatful if someone can advise as to whether the instructions are correct and how I do this?
Cast on 3 stitches.
Row 1 (WS): (Kfb) twice, k1 (5sts)
Row 2 (RS): (k1, yfwd) 4 times, k1 (9sts)
Thanks.
Jessica
For row 2 you will:
k1,
yfd - bring the yarn from the back of your work to the front between the needles,
k1 (bringing the yarn across the top of your working needle ,right for most people, from front to back then knitting the stitch as usual - you will see the yfd laying across the top of your needle), yfd.
Do this another 2 times and then knit the last stitch. You will have 9sts on your needle ready for the next row.
Hope this helps, enjoy your knitting

I agree with @notknittingknots. For me k1, yo is clearer and easier to understand.

I most often see this K1, yfwd with Knitters that release the yarn. The put the needle in the next sts to knit then pickup the yarn and move it back and wrap for the knit in one motion.
Thank you. Ill see how it goes
