Need Help with Hemlock Ring Blanket?

Hi All!!

I’m having trouble with the Hemlock Ring pattern where it states on the 14th Round: K1,allow 1st O (YO) to slip off left hand needle, work 9 sts in O (work k1p1 4x, k1) in 1 st etc.
It looks like you’re basically moving the working yarn back and forth but my hands keep getting tripped up. Also when they say drop the YO do they literally mean to drop it or just leave it unworked and pass on to the right needle.
It said to just trust the pattern as is but I have to question. Has anyone had any luck with this? Any Advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Drop it means let it fall off the needle. This will give you a bigger loop to work the 9 sts into. You knit into the loop, then bring the yarn to the front and purl into it, move yarn to back and knit again, etc. Just take it slow and you’ll get there.

Thank you soooo much for making it clear to me!! Its just hard to trust some patterns…LOL
