I am still slowly working my way through this sock pattern:
http://autoscopia.com/amelia/archives/2006/12/spindle_socks_1.html
and I am somewhat confused about the heel turn. The instructions are:

Turn heel: Row 1: (RS) K15, ssk, K1, turn.
Row 2: Sl1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn.
Row 3: Sl1, K6, ssk, K1, turn.
Row 4: Sl1, P7, p2tog, P1, turn.
Cont as set until all sts have been worked (don’t work single st after decrease in last two rows), ending with Row 2. (14 sts)
I have done one cycle of Rows 1-4, but I don’t know how to continue. What exactly does it mean to continue as “set”? Does that mean just do Rows 1-4 over and over again? But I don’t have enough stitches to complete Row 1 if that’s the case…
Just continue the pattern as it is written. You’re doing some sort of short row here I think to make the heel turn. I’ve never done it that way before though.
Turn heel: Row 1: (RS) K15, ssk, K1, turn.
Row 2: Sl1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn.
Row 3: Sl1, K6, ssk, K1, turn.
Row 4: Sl1, P7, p2tog, P1, turn.
Cont as set until all sts have been worked (don’t work single st after decrease in last two rows), ending with Row 2. (14 sts)

No, you dont repeat rows 1-4, do you see how you are working the p5 on the 2nd row, the k6, on the 3rd, and p7 on the 4th? you are increasing one stitch each row on the main body of the row, but repeating the same end stitches on the knit and purl rows, so you would work one more stitch each row in the main body of stitches, and the same end stitches, till you get them all used up, Pay attention to the instructions in parenthases (sorry cant spell)in your directions.
Jan, this is the same method that Fiber Trends uses for their “Felted Clog” I thought i read somewhere that you had made a pair of these? Agreed, Ive never made a heel like this but Ive worked this method of short row.
:???: Oh dear, I’m still confused. So I do a cycle of Rows 2-4 over and over again until all the stitches are used up? (Sorry, if I’m not understanding your instructions very well.)

you repeat a knit row and a purl row. so its acctually rows 3 & 4…as long as you increase one worked stitch per row. untill they are gone.
ending with Row 2
.
Im gonna rewrite this instruction…
“ending with purl row”
Ill do the heel and write the directions down for you tommorrow. I have some things to do tonight…
ah-HA! I’m totally through the heel turn now and understand it a bit better; thank you so much!
No prob…Glad I could help!
