Need help with frog and toad pattern

Hi all, I’m supposed to be making a knitted frog and toad for my nieces for Christmas and have run into trouble right in the beginning (good thing I have a back up gift).

In the section where I am shaping the chin using short rows (from top of head down), I go through this series:
2: P3 WRP-T
3: K3, work wrapped stitch with its wrap, K1, WRP-T
4: P5, work wrapped stitch with its wrap, P1, WRP-T
5: K7, work wrapped stitch with its wrap, K1, WRP-T

I am just not getting the alignment right with the wrapped stitch. I wonder if I am misinterpreting the work wrapped stitch with its wrap. From my understanding (and using only one video that I found which is not exactly the right language), when I am working the wrapped stitch into with its wrap, I am ending up with just one stitch not two. Is this correct?

Welcome to KH!
When you wrap a stitch you create a collar around the stitch. In order to disguise that collar, on a subsequent row, the collar is knit together with the stitch.
