Hello - I found a cool cowl/scarf that someone is selling on Etsy and that I think would be super easy to make - just for myself, not to sell or anything. But, I just had a few questions about it. I’m first wondering if I can post a link to the picture of the project here and ask questions about it on this forum, or is even that illegal? Please let me know if that’s okay and if it is I will then ask my questions. Thanks so much!
Yes, it’s okay to post a link to the picture. If you want to ‘reverse engineer’, or deconstruct a finished item to make and to discuss how to do it, it’s fine. A couple of really popular internet patterns were done that way, including a bolero.
Thanks for the OK! I wasn’t sure how that worked. Anyway, I posted my questions in a new thread (“Questions for a convertible cowl”).
You might also ask the Etsy creator if they would be willing to sell you the pattern.
It’s actually quite a simple pattern - different color garter st rectangles that are buttoned together in different configurations. Don’t really need a pattern, it’s easy to wing it.
