Need help fixing too loose bind off

hi there,
I have finished the two pieces to a poncho in lion brand homespun and I was way too loose on the bind off on one piece and don’t like the result. Any ideas on how to remedy this without ripping out? The yarn splits and am afraid to rip out. Saw a remedy in Sally Melville book which involves pulling yarn up and working along edge until excess yarn is at bind off. For life of me cant figure this solution out! Appreciate any input/advise. Laura

Are you going to be sewing the two pieces together?

If so, then when you sew along the BO edge go in two stitches. Sew the seam tight and the BO edge will be hidden on the inside.

OTW, I would just frog the end and reBO.

If you’re careful you can undo the BO and redo it tighter, used a much smaller needle to put the sts onto, then use which ever one you want for the BO. You can also do as you read in the book - start with a st a couple in from the edge where you began binding off and pull the yarn in the chain, then move to the next st and pull that yarn, and so on. If you have a lot of sts it’s very tedious and if you’ve caught a stitch in one of the loose threads then you’re stuck and can’t go on, so you might as well take it out and redo it in the first place.

Thanks to all! I ended up undoing the bind off and putting each stitch back on needle and then redoing. looks much better! I was then able to sew up the seam, almost finished! YAY!
Thanks again.
