Need help casting on for seed st (even/odd numbered sts)

I am starting on my second project the Lion Brand Flattering Jacket.
It calls for using the seed st, which I understand how to do. I have to cast on 75sts to start, which will call for Odd-numbered sts. Dosen’t it work out the same as Even-numbered sts? I don’t understand what the difference is ,are they not both saying the same things?

Seed St on even-numbered sts
Row 1 K 1, p 1; rep from across.
Row 2 P 1, k 1; rep from across.
Rep Rows 1 and 2, always having a k st over a p st and a p st over a k st.

Seed St on odd-numbered sts
Row 1 K 1, p 1, k 1; rep from across.
Rep Row 1 always having a k st over a p st and a p st over a k st.

Seed stitch is seed stitch. If you don’t know how to ‘read’ your stitches, then knowing which stitch to start with helps.

I always say that for seed stitch, if you end with a knit, start with a knit. If you end with a purl, start with a purl.
