I’ve been all over rav and nothing’s workin’ for me. I’m open to trying some simple k / p stuff but nothing too hardcore, eh? ty.
I almost smacked my screen with that creepy fly thing you have.
So you want wrist warmers only or more like fingerless mittens where there is a simple thumb hole?
ETA: we just had a big earthquake while I was typing this! Wooooo! Only a 5.7 or so.
Hmm… I found a simple one in stockinette stitch using sock/fingering yarn on ravelry, called mini-warmers. Is that what you’re looking for? Are you looking for something with thicker yarn?
Okay here’s a simple ribbed one. You can leave off the thumb hole if you want although it’s not hard.
Long ones, but simple.
Thanks guys…it’s for my KPPPM yarn which is fingering / 4ply
As a late side note; the mini wristwarmers are really short, but you could always knit longer for a longer pair.
these are knitted in the round, the pattern is free.
Leave away the instructions for the content of the patterned parts (M.1 and so on) and just knit the amount of stitches in stochinette. They have no thumb hole.
Well, just design your own pattern, if you want them just plain without tumb hole:
you need approx 30 stitches, if you do them in ribbing: a few more.
knit those in the round while knitting all knitts and purling all purls.
cast off, when they are long enough, make a second one to match the first one.
For the tumb hole: refer to the instructions in the link to yarn galery that Jan gave you.
This is an easy project that helps you tackle the knitting-in-the-round demon.
Jan…just a 5.7, huh? I saw that on the news during a baseball game. I’d be freakin’ out! But, we’re packing up stuff and getting ready in case we have a hurricane, so I guess it’s just as bad here.
The first one I felt was scary…that was back in 1971 and it was a 6.6 so a good shaker. I’ve been through so many now that when it happens we stop for a minute and feel it, look around and determine if we need to do something other than what we are doing. 99% of the time we don’t need to. Last night I was sitting here in my computer chair which is wheeled on a hard floor so it rolled a bit, but it wasn’t a big deal. The biggest one I’ve been was a 7.3. We did go sit in the hall/doorway for that one.
