So I just started knitting and have a million ideas for myself and friends and family. my boyfriend feels a little left out. I asked him over the phone what he would want me to knit him and, jokester that he is, he settled on a “banana sling”:roflhard: . Now if you don’t know what this is, its a specific kind of men’s underwear. I’m looking for a pattern because i’m going to get him back for embarassing me. can anyone provide any help? I want to get it done asap so he doesn’t see me doing it and he gets off work for 7 days in a row on tuesday!
lol, if my skill were high enough for one of these I might attempt it! as it is I can’t pull off the one from knitty because I don’t have the right tools (only have three sets of needles and all flat) and my skill just isn’t up there yet. I’m making it for a gag so I’m just sort of making a tie together thong. He needs a laugh. I just got a call saying his uncle had a heart attack. : (
Yeah, right now we still aren’t sure whats going on. It’s worse because my BF works at the hospital in the pharmacy and has been making medicine for him so he doesn’t get information but he is making his meds. it’s crazy and he can’t really get away from it. I’m making a bit of headway on the thong but I’m having a little trouble decreasing. It’s akward and I watched the video but I’m still not sure I’m doing it right. : (
well what I do is knit one, put it back on the left needle, pull the stitch behind that one over and off. that is what it looked like in the video. i don’t know if it’s right or not. I watched the video like a million times.
Haha this post seriously cracked me up! A “banana sling” — that’s some legendary boyfriend trolling Love that you’re actually knitting it to get him back, that’s hilarious. I once pulled something similar after getting roasted with a bunch of fat jokes during game night — turned the tables with a surprise gift and let’s just say, laughter was had by all! Hope you find the perfect pattern before his time off. This is going to be one
That sounds like a fun project! While it might be challenging to find a specific pattern for a “banana sling,” maybe she could try modifying a pattern for a traditional knitted pouch or thong. She can adjust the size and shape to fit the joke. Websites like Ravelry might have some similar patterns she can adapt.
