National-International? Knitting Week

Okay, next week seems to be National Knitting Week in the UK. Patternworks is also in on it (are they a UK based business?). Michaels is having a ‘yarn event’ during the same week, but not calling it National Knitting Week.
So, why don’t we make it International Knitting Week here at KH?! There are event examples found on the UK site if anyone needs any inspiration.
You can:

  1. do some charity knitting or
  2. teach someone to knit or
  3. share a free pattern or
  4. surprise a friend or loved one with something that you knit for him/her for no reason.
  5. surprise a knitter with a knitty delight (yarn, notions, needles, etc)
  6. knit in public and share your love of knitting
  7. give away some knitty goodness on your blog
    What ideas do you have?!
    So, what will YOU do for International Knitting Week?!
    Me, I am going to attempt a hat design that will match A Touch of Whimsy scarf that I designed last month. I will offer it for free on my blog along with some of my other patterns.

I’m afraid that since this is, hopefully, going to be International Knitting Week here at KH that I will set aside the I’m working on for my sister so I can (I hope) come up with a design or 2 to share with everyone :cheering: :happydance: :cheering:

I was going to knit some more on the top for my sister this weekend, but I have become inspired by this knitting week and bitten by the design bug, so…I may cast on another project and work on the design for the hat :thud: I know, goes against my monogamous knitting grain :shrug: what can I say, when the bug bites, I can’t help myself :teehee:

Well, how appropriate that my work knitting group is taking a field trip that week! I guess we will celebrate by yarn shopping.

BTW, Patternworks is based out of NH. I think somewhere near Lake Winnapasaukee/White Mountains.

Oh yeah, buying yarn is the best way to celebrate :cheering:
I thought that Patternworks was based in the US.
