Nantucket afghan

Hi I’m wondering if I can get some help. I’m on the first section of using colour c and it says to knit one row then beg 2 row and start moss pattern and do that for 21 rows. What I confused at is do I start the moss row on the first row of moss st then end on a first row of moss at cause the moss patter is made up of 20 rows and the section I’m doing says to do it for 21 rows.

Hello, and welcome to KnittingHelp.

What you need to do is work the 1st row (with colour C) in knit stitch and then, starting with row 2 of the moss stitch pattern work 21 rows in moss st.

Hi and welcome to KH. If I’ve got the correct spot in the pattern, you’re to knit one row with the new color and then begin the moss pattern on row 2 of the repeat. You then will work 20 rows of moss stitch, ending with row 2. It might be that you knit a row because of the color change. Changing colors with purls can give you funny results. HTH

This is a very nice blanket pattern. It seems that every color change where moss stitch is involved calls for a row of just knits. I’m pretty sure it’s to avoid the funny bars you get when changing colors with purls. This will be lovely. Enjoy.
