Nana's Blog, Please feel free to post in it!

Hi, I need to post some of my recent projects here. I haven’t been around much and I’m sorry for that.

">This is Catherine, born Sept.11 Pattern from The Knitted Teddy Bear. I knitted her an Einstein Coat with lady bug buttons

Oh she is adorable! Is she for you grandchildren or just for yourself?

I knitted this one up to see if I could do it,because I am planning on knitting another one for my Great Grand Daughter. I knitted my GGD a sweater for her before she was born , she’ll be two soon and she still wears my sweater. My plan is to knit her bear in one of the colors from the sweater and then place her sweater on the bear and giving it back to her when she’s older. A keepsake from her Nana to her.

My daughter wants the one posted here for her keepsake . I feel bad giving it to her because it’s made out of scrap yarn and has lots of mistakes but she doesn’t care.

Your daughter sounds like a lovely person. And what a great idea!!

now to knit the second mitten

Ohhh they look so warm!! Are those for you?

Yes Jan I am making these for myself. I have never used this Woolie Bullie yarn before , it can be a challenge for mistakes. I had my second cuff done and a good start on the ribbed section when I noticed a mistake. Started Tinking and the next thing I knew I had it all frogged but to nothing. It is next to impossible to pick up the WB yarn once you’ve pulled it off the needles. I didn’t get to bed until 5:30am

Yikes! Yeah, any of those fuzzy yarns like that can be a pain in the neck.

I use a life line on the second mitten .

Hubby made me a magnet wrist row counter because I was always sitting it down and misplacing it.

I have finally got Hubby to try to knit. It is so painful to watch but he is knitting. He knits very very tight and the slightest suggestion to get him to knit loser stresses him out, so I guess he’ll pick that up as he goes. Plus he knits like he types , one finger , I can’t get him to try and hold the yarn in his hand like he should . He has to drop the yarn and with his thumb and index finger he wraps and tugs on the yarn , like I said ,it’s painful to watch. Lucky for him I am a very Patient knitting instructor:)

Yay! Good for him! I have a friend who doesn’t wrap the yarn either and she has great tension and goes pretty fast so it is doable. I prefer it wrapped around my fingers myself. :teehee:

Just finished my fourth Einstein Coat. I added an I-Cord to the edge

Wow you’re on a roll! That’s beautiful! Are they all for you or have they been gifts?

One was a baby size that I put on a teddy bear I knitted for my Daughter . Two for myself and one for DH

I knitted this Einstein Coat for DH but he didn’t like that it was to itchy soooo…I felted it down to fit me:woot: But now he wants me to knit him another one that’s not itchy:X:

Looks great! What kind of yarn did you use for the itchy one?
