I love felting !! I found this pattern in one of my crochet books for making felted place-mats for the kitchen table ! Here’s a quick way to felt things, I found it online for non-knitter. Go to Goodwill and look for 100% wool sweaters and felt them down and then cut them in to usable sections and then sew them in to what ever you want like pot holder, glass cases, hats, mittens, purses , slipper, etc,etc . I did it and made hubby a nice thick warm pair of house slipper and I made myself a cool purse !
Ok, I made homemade Fudgesicles today and they turned out great!!! I’ll be making more of these !
1T cornstarch
1 cup of chocolate milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
2 T spoons cocoa powder
2T sugar
pinch of sea salt
on stove top
add cornstarch, milk, heavy cream and heat until hot (do not bring to a boil)
remove from heat, whisk in cocoa, sugar, and chips, let cool for 5 mins
pour into molds and freeze !
I used this link below to shorten my jeans but still keep the original hem and I love it! So I thought I’d share it .

Wonderful tip on the jeans hem. Thanks. I put my new ones on today only to realize they’re too long and just cuffed 'em up and wore anyhow. I’m not short, really. I used to have trouble getting pants legs long enough, now they’re all too long even some women’s petites and then they don’t fit anywhere else. Maybe it’s a conspiracy to get us to pay someone to shorten them, as if I would.
While we’re on the topic of jeans, who came up with this lovely  idea of half pockets that aren’t deep enough to safely hold a flip phone? Got any great tips on how to turn it into a real pocket?
I want one! Sounds yummy.
Great idea. I need to get into Goodwill next Tuesday when I get an old fogies discount. Maybe I’ll find something that I can use for this.
I made a really cute purse as a gift using recycled sweaters this way. You can get pretty creative with colors with this craft. Also, made little mats to sit my coffee mugs on and insoles for my winter work boots .
I love the hemming idea because I can never make a decent hem on my jeans. They always come out screaming dork dork dork
I have decided that I want to learn to crochet. Not that I am giving up my true love but I’ve been seeing some really cute crochet things and I can see how the two can play well together
I bought several books for beginners and Lord knows I have mountains of stash yarn. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with a huge bin of Debbie Bliss yarn . There’s a lot of it there but not enough of any one color to knit a sweater with so I’m thinking Granny Squares  Maybe if I learn to do this I could find a pattern for a Granny Square vest .
Crochet is cool. I think you’ll enjoy it. The only real crochet I’ve done since joining here is ears for a knitted version of this scoodie.
Those look so cute !
It’s just double crochet so if you know someone who would like it you could do one before too long.
I forgot to put the scoodie in the washing machine so it waits for the next load it can go with. Some days are like that.
The photo’s , are those actually ones you crocheted ? Is that your pattern?
I’m having one of those weeks:hair: I’m finding myself forgetting things more and more…is this how it starts:shrug: I’m 62 and I think I had a morning that my brain was on auto pilot today. I worked days and the night before hubby said he would put some envelopes (bills) that he wanted me to mail in the morning by the coffee pot so I would see them . He called me later at work to make sure I mailed them and I couldn’t recall mailing them  the longer I tried to recall the bigger the blank .I looked every place I could think of as to where I might have set them down , even looked in the frig . So now it’s wait and see if they show up at the bank .
That’s not fun. I went to paying my bills all online so that doesn’t happen anymore. I just look to make sure I scheduled the payments and then check again and look to see if the payment shows up on my account and then check again. Yeah, I hate that. It didn’t stop me from paying the electric bill twice and wondering why I had a credit balance and still owed on the internet bill. Oddly enough the overpayment to the electric company was the precise amount owing on the internet. I quit making lists because when I’d see them months later I’d wonder if I’d taken care of the stuff on the lists.
No, not my pattern. I did a knitted interpretation of the crochet pattern. My granddaughter saw and wanted one but I didn’t want to crochet so I did it in knit. It’s for her birthday unless I can’t wait till January. I think she’ll get it early.
Have you ever used the Sashay yarn or equivalent? I decided it’s for making S&M scarves. The company is sadistic and that leaves me…well, you know. :hair:
No I’ve never used Sashay yarn. It looks like it would a challenge to knit with . When I first started learning to knit Hubby was at Goodwill (his go to store) and found this Red Heart yarn for 50 cents . I can’t remember the name ,something like Baby Cloud ? I hated it so much I hid it for months and he kept asking me when I was going to do something with it. After I had a few projects under my belt , I knitted two shawls with it :hair: worst knitting experience using yarn like that ever !! I think they still sell it. The shawls didn’t come out bad, but never again with any type of yarn like that . I posted pictures of the shawl on Ravelry .

My daughter liked it so I gave it to her.
thanks a lot ladies… during my guilt-ridden admission of too much yarn… i have like 10 skeins of sashay, pirouette, etc. and i have no clue. i hear there are tutorials on the various companies’ websites, and YouTube… good thing it was all free, i don’t pay for my S&M.
.
Baby Clouds looks like as much fun as Homespun. I crocheted with Homespun once and that was my last attempt at working with it.
X, there are tons of tutorials for this yarn. One of the worst things is that I found that knitting English works better. I’m horrible with English style knitting.
X, how do you get free yarn? I need some of that!
GG, I keep trying to knit continental but I alway go back to english. I’m fine with the knit stitch , it’s the purl that drives me crazy. I keep dropping the yarn on my finger when I work the purl. I think continental look faster when I watch someone knit it.
honestly, listia.com… it’s an auction site like ebay, but with site-only points instead of outright cash. you can buy points (which is their main business model) or earn them by auctioning off your own unneeded items (which is what i do - books, magazines, tons of unncessary stuff i have from retail jobs, yard sales, clearances, etc, donations of unneeded stuff from my shopaholic aunts…). you can also earn points by participating in surveys, watching videos, or completing offers (magazine subscriptions, etc) if you have time/patience. i usually don’t have that kind of time, so i skip that stuff. many sellers offer free shipping, some do exact cost shipping paid via PayPal. either way, it ends up being way cheap, and i’ve had good luck in the last 6 months, with good quality items. new yarn, well cared for older yarn, nice quality new and used equipment (needles, gauges, etc.) just today i got 3 packages (all different kinds of DPNS, including KA brand, kollage k squared ones, giant clover takumis) i’ve even won some addi/skacel from there, about 15 knitting books, and yarn… so much yarn…
.
Oh good Lord, that’s all my hubby needs to know. He’s an Ebay freak as is. That’s where I get all of my knitting tools and yarns and books from. Can’t wait to tell him about this now
Here, I go again . Projects on needles and finding new things to knit !!! I’ve been eying this scarf for some time now but have been to afraid to try it . Has anyone done Entrelac ?
