Mystery tool

Does anyone know what this tool is for? It’s either from a Knitmaster 700 or Ribber SRP-60N, but we cannot figure it out at all.

Welcome to KH!
Most of us are hand knitters but there are a few machine knitters who may be able to help. @Beth_Leatherman @MK_er

Here’s a link to the parts manual for the Knitmaster 700 which may be of some help.

I don’t recognize that particular part. My ribber is the 20 though. There are several groups for machine knitting on Facebook and perhaps someone in those groups can help. Here’s the part list for your ribber. https://sewknit.ca/srp60n-free-diagram

Thanks for this. Looking at the PDF provided in the link under Accessories it looks very much like number 34, screw fastener, in other words a stylised screwdriver. I think that solves the mystery.

Many thanks for your help.

I’m sorry; I do not know either!

Yes it is a screw driver, but it’s been so long since I used a knitting machine that I can’t remember which part in particular it was used to tighten.
Have just looked on the bsk site and it just says ribber screw driver :flushed:

Years ago, machines (especially sewing machines) were provided with a small screwdriver for tightening bolts. But recently, the companies have become cheap, cheap, cheap. They have replaced it with something that looks like a skate key for metal skates from the 1960s. I’m showing my age here. But the “screwdriver” is made of thin metal. Here is my “screwdriver” for taking the presser foot off my Singer sewing machine I just bought a year ago. The manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves!
