Has anyone ever heard of something like this?

(The one titled, how do you use this??)
My boyfriend’s grandma gave this thing to me, and said it was a knitting rack. I know there are two holes for needles on the left side, and the poles are spring loaded like a toilet paper holder so they can be removed.
Does anyone know how this is intended to be used?
I have no idea. Maybe you could use it like a swift or something? If you figure it out, let me know. I’m curious now.

I thought quilt rack also, but couldn’t figure out why you’d need the bars at the bottom or why they’d be removeable.
i am thinking it is for spun yarn to dry to help set the twist.

It looks like a magazine/knitting rack like this , except fancier and missing the fabric.
My aunt used to use one of these for crafty projects.
