My St. Bernard, Charlie!

Oh gosh what a CUTIE!

They all are adorable…I do have a soft spot for the big’uns.

What a gorgeous boy! I’d love a St. Bernard but I don’t think our bed is big enough and I don’t want an outdoor dog considering it can be so hot for them inside in the winter. I’d miss my “baby” if he were outside too long. And I’m not sure I could take the drooling. He’s beautiful though. And funny, apparently!

There is someone who lives by me who has a St. Bernard, a Newfoundland and a Golden Retriever. He walks them all together and they are amazingly great on the leash. It’s such a treat to see them out and about. They’re so huge.

Hi Sunshine’s Mom!

There are two types of St. Bernard: the English Saint, and the American Saint. The English Saint is the dog with the real sad sack face and long droopy jowls from which drool runs almost all the time. All dogs have saliva all the time (as do humans) but if the jowls are hanging down…the dog can’t keep it in his mouth long enough to swallow it. :teehee:

The American Saint has a perkier face and a neater, trimmer jowl configuration, so therefore, he doesn’t drool at all. No more than our hounds drool if we are eating something delicious in front of them and they have hopes of a nibble! Then almost any dog can get a drool going!
