Way cool, and special.
Thats cool,i like it.
Okay, now you’ve done it. It’s all your fault! LOL
I just MUST get another tattoo. I already have 7, and have been wanting another. Including one on my feet!
I have 2 chinchillas, and am trying to figure out a way to get their footprints without hurting them, so ink for them to walk through is out. I want their footprints tattooed on my feet because they are FOREVER standing on or walking across my feet.
I know what I want for my thigh, I just need to find someone to take my idea and draw it out…and because of your knit/purl, now I know what to put on my other thigh. With your permission, of course. :o)
oooohhhh, I feel a trip to CA building to get to my tat artist…
Reef, is there something else that they like or could lick off their feet, that you could use in place of ink. Even if their feet were wet with just water, that would leave a print on like a dark grocery bag even.
Their prints sound cute, would be a good tat to have. I want to get the stars and moon on my shoulder blade, kinda fallin down. just to show forever dreaming.
Good luck.
FanfreakingTASTIC, Sil!!! Love it!
awesome tatoo. I love the idea of one word being something else upside down
thats probably one of the coolest tattoos Ive seen I love it!
Very cool. I plan on getting a ball of yarn with needles on the top of my foot someday.
Awesome!
Silver, I loved you for your sock tute (which got me knitting socks!) and now you totally rock my socks (no pun intended). I have three tattoos and I was thinking about getting something similar to the Domiknitrix logo on my lower back on inside my wrist. I love what you had done, though. Very creative and it looks awesome.
It IS awesome!!!
Silver that is simply lovely!! And I love the, hmm, palindromic-mirror effect of the word. I have a bunch of medieval examples of the same sort of thing, but had never seen Knit and Purl done like that. Cool cool cool! You are one righteous knitter babe!
That is SO SWEEEEET! I love it.
I’ve been secretly almost wanting a tattoo for a couple of years - jsut something very small and put somewhere where nobody would see it that I don’t want to see it. Fortunately for my parents’ (and grandparents, and some teachers, and the boss, and my brother, and my best friends, and their parents, and…) peace of mind, I am terrified of needles and couldn’t handle even a small one. My roommate tried to get me to get one because she has one, but I can’t stand the thought of the needles…
Regardless, I love ambigrams and that is really cool! It took me a minute to see “Purl” because I was trying to flip it back right-side-up in my mind.
I just saw your post today, Silver, and auburnchick, I was thinking the EXACT same thing!!!:teehee:
Is there anything that Silver can’t do??? :notworthy:
A VERY cool tattoo indeed!!!
That is an incredible tat! You have got my mind thinking about my next one!
I just came across this link to your tattoo that other people on the forum were talking about. It’s really neat! At first, I didn’t realize that it was the same tattoo until I read, “upside down.” That’s really cool! I thought you had “knit” done on one arm, then “purl” done on the other.
That is awesome, I love the effect!
I love the tattoo, and I have learned a new word " ambigram"…thanks for that:mrgreen:
that tat is sooo awesome. i soo want one, but need a little dutch courage before i go ahead with one lol.
i love the knit purl thing, so clever.
ok, can you be honest as i am a whimp how much does it hurt getting them done? ( i’m getting better with needles but desperatly want a lizard done)
so love the knit purl though
susi
It all depends on your own pain tolerance, AND where the tattoo is located. What hurts for me, may not hurt for you, and vice versa.
I am not afraid of pain and have a fairly high tolerance (I think that’s a natural occurance when you have a 9 lb baby without any painkillers. :teehee:) I have six tattoo. Here’s a scale of 1-10 rank of the pain for each of them:
- R outside ankle: 5
- R chest: 4-5
- L upper arm: 1-2
- Across upper back: 4-7
- Top of R foot: 11
6: R inside wrist: 6
Pain is more severe the closer it is to bone, so places like the top of your foot, hip, ribs, etc will be more painful than your butt, upper arm, or thigh. And pain can vary greatly in one tattoo.
When it hurts, it hurts a lot. BUT, the pain stops as soon as the tattooist stops. And it’s a tolerable pain, albeit highly annoying. To me, it’s more annoying than anything.
