This is another ubiquitous Klaralund from Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton’s Noro book.
It took me about 3 weeks to finish and approx. 10 balls of silk garden. I absolutely LOVE this pattern. It was so fun to knit, and I think it fits me great. This is the first sweater I have made that I think actually fits!
I added some simple waist shaping and had to make the sleeves about 3 inches longer that recommended in the pattern (because I have freakishly long arms I guess?).
I would highly recommend this pattern to any beginning knitter!
Seriously! That is just a fabulous piece of work…you made something that’s actually functional and looks and fits like a high-quality, high-price sweater…that’s the best part: knowing you made it yourself…congrats! It’s awesome…and inspirational…guess it’s time to pick up my KnitScene Kenobi cardigan again xxx
I love it! You look fabulous in it, too. I’ve just spent the last 10 minutes googling Klaralunds and now I REALLY want to make one…I should plan on making one for next winter…seems like it would be a quick knit and I might be able to afford 10 skeins of Silk Garden by then…
That is beautiful! One day I’ll get around to making a sweater, I’ve wanted to, but I’ve never found a pattern I’ve been happy enough with, but, that sweater is just awesome! Very flattering too (which I need it to be…after almost 3 years, still haven’t kept off the weight from my last little demon…hahaha)
3 weeks?? That’s how long it’s taken me to knit 34 rows of my baby blanket so far!!
Love the sweater though - gorgeous colours and it really suits you!
