My 1st Crochet Project...Cupcake Purse!

I just learned how to crochet and wanted to share my first FO! I got this pattern over at crochetville.org, it was an original pattern that Tapanga shared. It’s a Cupcake Purse!

When I saw it, I just had to learn how to crochet…started it Tuesday and finished it last night…isn’t it cute?

I’ve been knitting for about 2 years and love it…and I really like crochet too!

Oh, that is cute! You did a great job for a beginner!

Very Cute!! Especially for your first project. Keep up the great work!

Hi Knitldy!
I found it at www.crochetville.org
Look in forum, original patterns…it might be on the second page. A lady named Tapanga shared the pattern! I’ve already started a second one…I’m going to crochet them for 3 little girls at Church.
Let me know if you crochet one!

That is so cute and I already made one. I will post a pic once I charge the batteries for my camera. They are so easy to make I made it today in a matter of a couple hours off and on between getting other things done around the house.

It is cute, isn’t it? I’m almost finished with my second one…I did the top in purple on this one!

Oh my daughter needs one of those. “Santa” may stick on in her stocking this year.

I just had to do a cup cake purse.

Nice purse! I have one question is the purse really that big or is it just you are really taking a close picture?:aww:

it is actually that big. the thing is HUGE!! We mangaged to put 10 matchbox cars in and still had the orange part left to stick things.

Ok here are a couple pics of mine. The first one I made was huge so my daughter has that one and I changed the pattern a little to make them smaller for me to give away as gifts. i think these will be great to give as Christmas gifts to little girls.
The first one is the best one I could get of a side view, the next one is how many I have made already and the third one is some little ones I made. I used dk weight for those ones and and a small hook and they would be great for change purses. The little hand is my daughter as she was trying to get in a picture. I was taking a bunch of pics of different projects and she was laying beside it to try and get in so she stuck her hand in on that one.

curious here what size hook did you use. I know the original pattern calls for I/9 (5.5mm) so did you go down to F/5 (3.75mm)

3.5 actually.

MommaG, Can you tell us how you changed the pattern to make it smaller with the ww yarn? It was just on change purses/dk yarn that you reduced the hook size? Thank you!
