Mr Bean Teddy Bear Help!

I am quite new to knitting, I’ve mainly been making little things.
I found the Mr Bean Teddy pattern and had to try it! http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/toys/beanbear.htm

Anyway i’ve just started but i think i have messed it up already…
for the body you have to increase one every alternate row until you reach 26.
So i’ve got up to 26 and and it looks like:

000000000000
00000000000
00000000000
0000000000
000000000

(straight on one side and slanted at the other)
Is that right or is it supposed to be slanted on both sides?

Thanks!

Ok, increasing one every alternate row will give you an uneven side but you need to read the instruction again:

Inc 1 st at each end of the next row, and every following alternate row until you have 26sts.

I bolded teh part that is important. You will be increasing 2 sts on the increase rows, one at each end. I have missed instructions like that before so I always double check nowadays!

Thanks! I nearly made a right mess!!

Will be paying more attention in future!

Thanks again!

I had no idea this pattern was available! Thank you, I am a Mr. Bean fan myself, with 3 grandchildren to knit for. This will definitely be going on their Christmas Knit list.
