Moss stitch pattern

:cheering:
Hi all,
Haven’t been around for a while! But I can finally knit without pain!! YIPEE I had carpal tunnel surgery last week and can knit up a storm again! YIPEE

my question is I am working on a pattern Moss Stitch Scarf and the instructions say

Stitch Guide
Seed Stitch : Multiple of 2 sts + 1
All rows : k1 p1* rep from * end k1

does that mean knit the whole scarf in k1 p1 ending with k1

i guess what is confusing me is the multiple of 2 sts +1

Thanks for your help :muah:

[/i]

Yes it means k1, p1 ending with K1

if the whole scarf is moss stitch how come it called for seed stitch ??? i m confused :??

hi
thaks for your help! i was looking on the net and it appears that sometimes the seed stitch is referred to as the moss stitich! :wall:

Yes it is known by the two names.

Thats just to confuse the newbies who are already confused enough :teehee:

Here is the difference between the 2.There is a difference!!

The problem comes in when people call seed stitch moss stitch, or you’re from the wrong side of the ocean from the pattern writer. :eyes:

Ahhhh! So what I call Moss Stitch is what people on the other side of the pond call Seed Stitch.

Thank you for the explaination Ingrid and now I have a new stitch to try out - American Moss Stitch.
