I’m looking for a soft very fuzzy mohair silk 70/30 yarn in a worsted weight, solid color in black or white. Any recommendations as to where to find would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dyann

WEBS ans Lovecrafts in the US are possible sources. Would you consider holding a lace weight mohair/silk like Knit Picks Aloft with a heavier yarn?
No I do not want to do that. I’m designing a sweater and it needs to be all mohair. Thank you tho for the suggestion. Appreciate it!
Yarnundyed Yarn might have it. They have dk weight and may have worsted.
Their yarn looks great but no worsted. Lace and fingering. For this project those won’t work but may use them for others. Thank you so much!!
Have you tried YarnSub?
I had a quick search but not much comes up:

You could perhaps also look at DK:

I can think of one or two fluffy worsted weight yarns, but the fibre content is different.
Drops kid silk is is their yarn group A (lace weight 23 - 26 sts per 10cm) when worked 2 strands together is their yarn group C (aran/worsted 17 sts per 10cm). It is a 75% 25% mix which is quite close to what you want.
This link to the yarn
This link to their list of yarns and how the yarns can be combined (scroll down)
And a bit more about combining their yarns is here
Hope this helps
Wow! This is a great site!! Thanks again for all your help!!
Back again! Looking for options/advice: I’m going to be knitting with a 60/40 kid mohair/silk yarn and will be carrying along a strand of sequined yarn. Re: the sequined yarn I’m not comfortable adding a cotton sequined yarn to the mohair, they both act so differently. My question is what about a nylon sequined yarn to carry with the mohair?
Can you try one of the options on a swatch and see how the swatch washes? Mohair/silk and wool work well together. I’m not sure about the combination with either cotton or nylon.
I don’t have either yarns yet. I’ve made a decision on the mohair but not on the sequin yarn yet, this is why I’m seeking advice. I have done a whole lot of research on the sequined yarn, like a few months but have never seen a wool sequined yarn plus the name wool equates scratchy to me, unless it says merino I don’t buy. But I’ll keep searching and waiting for other options/advice. Thank you so much for responding, greatly appreciated❣️
You could look through projects on Ravelry to see how people used sequined yarns and their comments on how they worked.
You can look at old/discontinued yarns to give you an idea about fibre content. On the yarn “advanced search” there is an option for sequined yarns.
There are 60/40 mohair/silk yarns with sequins, maybe that would suit you so you still have the mohair silk content you want. There seems to be a fair few options, here’s one
And there are merino sequin yarns too.
Never used any of these myself.
Perhaps as you are designing your own project you just need to get them and try them out?
I’m well aware of those. Drool every time I look at them but way too expensive for my budget. Thanks for sharing though!
