Over the weekend, we took a trip to Iowa and here’s what kept me occupied in the car. :teehee:
The first is an Anthropologie Capelet, made longer. I used Patons SWS in Natural Earth. (Yep, because I loved Candice’s so much!)
I’m working on one for my daughter, too, but in Natural Denim. I got hers all finished, and bound off, and woven in… and then she decided she wanted long sleeves. Sigh.
The next are Pirate Mittens from Hello Yarn, knit with LB Microspun. I’ve only got one and a half done, though.
There are some pictures of them on my blog, too, along with some earrings I made lately.
I’m sorry! :pout: We were in Newton for my grandmother-in-law’s birthday, and then we drove over to Pella to visit my husband’s great-aunts in the nursing home. Oh man, for getting there Friday night and leaving Sunday morning, that was one busy, break-neck trip. But we got pie, so it’s ok. I’ll remember to tell you next time we head up there! I imagine it will be around the holidays, tho.
Lessee, as for the cast-on for the shrug, I think I did 70-some stitches. I’m pretty sure I got the number from Candice’s thread, somewhere. Can’t wait to see yours!
Thanks! Actually, there was some yarn wasting at work. I knitted one sleeve, then unwound the yarn until the pattern repeated and started the next sleeve there.
Your mom is a seamstress? That’s something I’d love to learn to do.
Yeah, she taught me lots and I’ve had the opportunity to do it all my life, but I just never dug it… I always wanted to be out in the shed with my dad doing ‘guy’ stuff. ya know? but now I am coming back around and I just love to knit.
Great, I wondered how you got your sleaves to match! great job!!! :cheering:
