So I’m supposed to be putting the needle ‘through’ the whole stitch? I’m putting it between the 2 stitches. Like inbetween the ‘V’ if you will.
I’ll post the picture so you can see what I’m doing…
give me 5 minutes, maybe 10.

I don’t need a picture. I think I understand what you’re doing. I’ll post a picture of what I think you should be doing.
They’re a bit blurry, but I think you can see. I picked up one side of the stitch with the left needle, put the needle in position to knit, and then knit it. It makes a regular stitch. When I purled across the back, it was fine.
You know, I’m all for following patterns but this just seems like a very strange and unnecessary way to make a gusset increase. When you pick up the stitch below the first stitch on the right hand needle, you are picking up the very same stitch you just finished knitting. So why in the world would the pattern not just tell you to knit into the front and back of that stitch? Maybe the method they describe looks nicer than the kfb, because the kfb does have a little horizontal strand that shows, but with all this grief you’re having over it I would just go with the kfb.
You’re absolutely right, Knitqueen. You could even do a M1 increase. It does look nice in that it forms a little ‘v’, but it’s certainly not necessary.
Here!!! here!!! This has just gotten way beyond annoying. :wall: What I’m doing now is picking up the stitch below the stitch I just made. I was doing it like you stated above but it just wasn’t working. I hope its okay.
Should I just do a make 1 increase and leave it at that or should I just do what they are telling me to do?? :pout: :pout:
If you can’t get it to work, just make a d*mned increase and stop :wall: . They’re just trying to be fancy. :!!!:
Mean idiot morons :!!!:
They should be shot, maybe even hung. Nah, too drastic.
Thanks you for all of your help with this damn mitten. It had better fit when I’m done.
Good luck!! I’m sure it will turn out great. An increase is an increase, they just look a bit different.
