At my LYS I wanted to buy some superwash wool to make mittens for a nephew. I bought Mission Falls 1824. I think I’m in love with this yarn
I’m half-way through the mittens, which are a quick knit, and the Mission Falls is so soft and enjoyable to knit with. I am going to have to use more of this yarn.
I haven’t because it had a weird texture. It was nubbly, not a smooth strand like the wool.
I have worked with the mission falls wool too, and find it very soft and warm. But I am noticing that the more it is touched, worn, etc, the fuzzier it gets.
I love the Mission Falls cotton! I’ve been making baby hats out of it (you can see them on my blog). It runs about $5+ a skein, and is enough for one hat, with leftovers. It is nubby, but I think the texture it creates is pretty neat. It’s also a very soft cotton!
I’ve not yet used it, but fondled it in the yarn store and I liked it, a lot! But, thus far my very fave cotton yarn is, hands down, blue sky cotton, it is super yummy :cheering:
