There are some Stitch and Bitches that I know of. Not sure if you’d be interested in that or something else? :shrug:

Loop Yarn Shop (www.loopyarnshop.com) is having one on 11/15. I haven’t gone but really wanted to check it out. I think she said they even have wine and snacks! It’s from 5-7.

Another idea is Kro-Sha (www.kro-sha.com). I’m not sure when their open knits are, but I think it’s every Wednesday.

I don’t know of any others that would be close to you though.

Where are you located ??? i went to the loop yarn shop b4 and never attend their meeting yet… did you knit at home or you have your own knitting gang ???

I live in Wauwatosa. I don’t have a knitting gang. I wish I did! I started with my friend but she developed a tendon problem in her wrist and had to quit. I guess it’s pretty bad.

I’ve never been to the Loop one, but I did go to the Kro-Sha one a while ago.

sorry about your g/friend’s wrist… i got carpal tunnel and still knitting…taking it easy though… maybe we can be knitting buddy… we can correspond here and maybe meet next time when we got a chance…what do you think ??? Are you a housewife with kids or do you work full-time ??? i am married and no kids…and i am a full time housewife…let me know what you think …no pressure though

I work full time (9-5) and don’t have kids. I just got married last month.

That shawl is stunning! :shock: Do you do a lot of lace knitting? Is it for a gift or for yourself? It is so pretty.

I’m working on a few things right now… socks, Clapotis, French Market Bag, Voodoo Wristwarmers, and Branching Out.

As far as stores go, I’ve been to Loop and Knit Wit in Bayview, Kro-sha, and one in Cedarburg but I can’t remember the name.

Do you have a blog? How long have you been knitting?

Boy, you are busy !!! branching out and french market bag …i almost wanted to knit them …but my list is like toilet paper long… that is why i never have a blog…it would be no time to knit… :doh:

you should visit the yarn house…alot of stuff in a small house… people there are nice too…hmmm i had been knitting and crochet since 18… extensive knitting start when i m 21 onwards… did you see the Vogue holiday knitting magazine yet…alot of stuff i want to knit !!!

you should sign what for Joann fabric coupons i got mine 40% discount all the time… i use that to buy magazine (if there is one that caught my eye) and alot of knitting gear… that is a lot of savings !!! how about pick one project that we can work on ??? anything in mind let me know…have a great day

That’s a great idea! Do you have any projects in mind? I have a skein of Kid Silk Haze if you want to do something with lace.

Thanks for the tip about Joann’s. I would have never thought to do that. Vogue Knitting is great this year. I especially like that white Christmas stocking but it looks so complicated.

So the Yarn House, according to Mapquest, is only 2 miles away from where I work! I had no idea I was so close to a yarn store. You made my day! :woot:

I love Knitpicks! What alpaca did you get? I just got their needles and love them.

That’s a beautiful shawl! I’m not sure if I could do something like that. I’ve only been knitting about 6 months. The only lace I’ve done is Branching Out and I’m struggling with that! :help:

Would you be interested in something like these? Or would they be boring for you?

We can knit along when you are comfortable… or when you finished some of your projects… I will be going to Singapore Nov 05 (see my parents) then to Maldives (for holidays) and will be back on dec 08… so we got plenty of time to start the knit-along together…

Have you knit with the Alpaca cloud yet? I have one skein but haven’t tried it yet. What are you planning to make with it?

Your trip sounds like so much fun! Is Singapore where you’re originally from? It must be so nice to go someplace warm, too. Especially since it’s snowing today! :grrr: Have you been to Maldives before? It looks like heaven! We’ll have to get together when you get back for sure.

Your idea of a lacy shawl is wonderful. Maybe we could start off with something a bit simpler and then move on to something more advanced for the next project? What do you think?

Tonight I’m taking a intro beading class with a friend. I’m hoping I can get out of work early enough to visit that yarn shop.

I am unwinding the yarn right now into the ball …i am using them to knit my next lacy shawl …cos they are feather weight and warm…so it nice to make them into lacy shawl or bigger scarf

Yes i was born in Singapore …yup every nice there sunny every day ha ha yup snow abit yesterday… i cannot wait to get out of these weather …my skin is so dry and cracked this weather sure use alot of lotion and cream …:wink: Maldives is my first visit … it going to be a fantastic trip for us … laying in the sun and relax for my husband …and knitting in the sun for me :cheering:

Sure… we can do that … we can start with easy lace then move up and up for the complicated ones… alway tell yourself if someone can write the pattern and knit it…so can we !

Oh beading class sounds fun ! One of these days i would like to do beading knitting… it would be so classy on lace project too…
