Middle Eastern cast on help

I am trying to work toe-up socks, but can’t seem to get the gist of the middle eastern cast on, or figure 8 cast on, would it be possible to get a video on this if possible, all my searches on the 'Net have turned up nothing. Appreciate the help.

Have you looked up Turkish cast on? I don’t know if that’s the one you mean by Middle Eastern, but rather than a figure 8, it wraps the stitches around 2 needles. Here’s a really good demo of it - http://fluffyknitterdeb.blogspot.com/2005/10/knitting-made-easier-turkish-cast-on.html

Is that the one that is also called Turkish CO? Here’s a few links for it. I’ve been trying to do something with it and struggling myself. :doh:

It’s easy once you get the hang of it. I like using it for starting bags.
