Hi I am staring the main part of 4693 king cole mermaid blanket in size 4-6 years. I’m just wondering if anyone could look at the pattern and tell me which stitches make up the main part as it gives you 4 rows then you do the 4 rows again and another 2 different rows then it says work 75 rows with inc on some rows but doesn’t say if it is just the first 4 rows that you knit or whether it is the 6 rows from the second lot of stitches and I’m a little confused. Not sure if I am meant to do the other 2 rows on certain rows or whether it is just back to the 4 main rows for the 75 rows that I am then going to do. Thank you in advance.
Welcome to KH!
The first 4 rows are the pattern rows to follow. When you make the increases however you will have to adjust the pattern for those new sts. The 2 extra rows are demonstrating how to take the increases into the pattern.
Under 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th sizes only the 2 “Next Rows” are showing you how to work an increase and then how to take that inc into the pattern. In the first of these rows you place the increases one stitch in from the edge. The second of these rows is a repeat of row 2 taking into account the increases that were made. Proceed with row 3 of the pattern rows accounting for the increases.
Thank you. I will give it another look at and try again! Tried once but messed the pattern up!
