I am searching for a nice men’s scarf. Does anyone know of
a different pattern that is masculine.
There is the regular type of k2,p2…but, I was hoping to have a reversible or something different.
thank you in advance.:yay:
Knitpicks.com has some very classy men’s scarves. Check out their freebies. Lots of choices at knittingpatterncentral.

Hi,
I think Henry from Knitty is great men’s scarf pattern. I hope to
make one some day when I’m done with the other 9 million
projects I want to make haha…

Great pattern…what type of yarn is comparable to … Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4-ply [100% Merino Wool; }…I have very limited yarn store selection. Would it be a sport weight?
A littler thinner than sport, though you could use it with needles a size or two larger. A fingering/sock/baby weight would be a close match if you want to use needles that small.
I prefer using larger knitting needles…if I do use sport…should I go up 2 needles sizes?
I would think that will work out, try it and see how the pattern looks with it. You’ll have a wider scarf, but you may be able to leave off one or two pattern repeats to make it the same width as the original.
Last year I did three scarves for myself (given that I’m a guy…not into women’s clothing) I guess then they qualify as men’s scarves.
I did:
-
The Seaman’s Scarf from Knitpicks using their Cadena yarn (no longer available). The color was a slate gray
-
A Danica entrelac scarf using Paton’s SWS in an earthtone shade. The color changes matched up with the block changes well
-
A Rainy-Day scarf which is basically just a 2x2 ribbing that is ‘offset’ to produce a wavy ripple rib. I did that in Malabrigo in a midnight blue/purple colorway called Paris Nights or something like that.
All turned out very well and I’ve gotten compliments on all of them.
I’m basically a jeans/t-shirt/black leather bomber jacket type of guy and I’m comfortable wearing any of them. Hope it helps

thank you, off to check out your scarves…wonderful…
I usually knit the: IRISH HIKING SCARF for the scarves that I knit for guys… they’ve all loved it so far.
I don’t have the website right now… but, you can type in the name and do a search for it on the Internet.
Libbie,
Thank you! I clicked on the site and when I saw it, I just said WOW! I have made so many scarfs, I never wanted to make another one till I saw this…I’ve wanted to make my dad something and this would be perfect for him!
Thanks for posting!
