Mattress stitch help please

Hi

Have finished tatty cape and now need to sew it up. Saw a mention of mattress stitch being he best method on here. There was a video link but it wouldn’t open. Any advice gratefully recieved.

If you have trouble viewing the videos, try downloading an update for Windows MediaPlayer (or QuickTime). That worked for me.
Mattress stitch is a really neat way to seam, but I think I would have trouble explaining it, so I’ll leave it to the videos, (or to Ingrid… :D)

Thanks for posting the web site video for Mattress Stitch… Very clear and so I will use it to close side seams of my new Shrug…
