Making decreases less visible

I am knitting a pullover in stockinette from the bottom up in the round. I’m at the point where I have to K2, K2tog for the entire round. The problem is that the whole row of decreases is quite noticeable and unattractive. I’ve been looking for less visible ways to decrease, but the only one I can find is the Kwise SSK. I’m not sure it’s the appropriate one to use. I wish I could make a non-leaning, better looking decrease, but I don’t think that exists. Any suggestions?

What is the name of your pattern and designer?
K2tog is a fairly neat and almost invisible decrease but when you line up decreases across a row or in a column, they always stand out.
Is it possible to work the decreases over 3 or 4 rows rather than along a single row?

Which part of the sweater is it? If it’s a transition from rib to stockinette you could try all the decreases in the purl column instead, I prefer this a i feel they are less visible.

It’s a bit late now I suspect, but I presume you are knitting the yoke? If as Creations mentioned you are decreasing after rib the decrease in the purl stitches would be much less obvious. If I’m knitting in the round I always knit top down as it makes life much easier!!

Another thought I just had. If it is the transition from rib to stockinette some patterns have you change needle to a larger size and decrease in that row, the stitches can look bigger, you could try the decrease round in the smaller rib needle and then change to the larger body needle and it may give a cleaner result.
