Okay, I love knitting now. I am officially addicted.
Anyways, I’m still much of a beginner, but I found a really cute dog sweater pattern that seems simple enough for me to knit. I just have a question on how to do some parts of the pattern–those parts being the binding off and then casting back on for making the leg holes and button holes.
Here is a little exerpt from the pattern [free pattern online found on http://labpugglechifreepatterns.blogspot.com/2007/10/side-button-down-dog-sweater.html]
**Cast on 60 stitches and knit all rows for 4". Next row, knit 20, bind off 10, knit 30. Next row, knit 30, cast on 10 more stitches, knit 20. This creates the arm hole! Knit all rows for another 4". Do the k20, bo10, k30 again and then k30, co10, k20 to create another arm hole. Knit another 8-9" and then to create button holes, depending on how many you want, yarn over then k2tog to create a button hole. I did 6 evenly spaced.
Okay, now I understand how to bind off, but how do you cast back on [as I always have done long-tail cast on, I’m not sure as to how to cast on again while still doing a row].
If any of you super-knitters could give me an explanation [a detailed one…if you could], or tell me if there is a video somewhere that shows how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it!
I love my little minpin, Chanel, and am reallly excited about being able to knit a sweater for her!
Thanks in advance to everyone!! :]
