I knitting these really cute baby booties using Chrstine’s baby booties pattern. The booties are made with eyelets that go around the ankle where you are suppose to insert a crocheted tie. My question is how do you make a tie? It seems like a simple thing but I couldn’t find clear resources on the Internet. I guess it could be knitted or crocheted. Thanks for any help.
Just do a single crochet chain till it is the length you want it

So the single crochet chain worked out well. I am now wondering if you know a clever way to darn in the yarn ends into the chain so they don’t slip out. I tried just threading the ends down the middle but they are coming out.
You could just cut it about 1/2" past the end and leave it at that. Leave 1/2" at the other end, too.
You could use a length of ribbon instead.
I am using an icord and have no babies to test it on what is a good length?
Welcome!
i make the ties long enough to go through the eyelets slightly gathered and make a bow. That’s about 20-22inches long.
Appreciate the imput:cheering: :cheering:
Knitbot, you could knot each end of your crocheted tie, and weave the tail into the knot.
