Lotsa sock yarn!

The yarn I ordered from the website Dustinac provided earlier in this thread came today. With a set of stitch markers as a surprise gift!!

Absolutely scrumptious!

Congrats on getting the “surprise gift”! I too ordered from Julia’s Yarns (the sampler pack), but didn’t get a surprise.

Here’s what I received:

Wow-I love that yarn! I haven’t knit any socks yet but started the sleeves for my baby sweater on DPN’s today and have been thinking about it.

Is 1 skein enough for a pair? For size 9.5 feet w/ fat ankles?

In my experience, it takes two skeins to make a pair of average-sized socks. The only time I got two socks out of one skein was when I made kid socks for my 5 year old niece.

Oh, that’s good to know. Things usually take way more yarn than I think. I would hate to end up with 1 sock! I am sure it would need an ugly twin (although it would most likely be fraternal)

I don’t know, because I knit 2 socks, using 2 skeins, and different needles, at the same time. I don’t believe I ever have enough left over to do another complete pair-maybe a child’s pair or anklets. I wear a size 10 shoe, so mine ae retty big.

Wow…just…wow…

Abbily, that looks like a bikini top!

bowing down to impressive knitting know-how :notworthy:

Cool to know I might be able to make them for one of the kiddos as well. If I ever learn to knit socks.

Yeppers… the scraps from the Horcrux above, my Krazy Stripes and my Monkeys produced these mini gems. My nieces never have cold feet and I have a great use for the tidbits of leftover yarn.

I hope you learn to knit socks someday. I can bet it will be one of your favorite knitting projects!
