Looking for soft cotton yarn

What is the best soft cotton yarn to make washcloths with. My friend wanted me to make her some, but some of the cotton yarns that I have felt just seemed stiff. Thanks

The yarn softens up a lot when you wash them. Hobby Lobby’s I Love this yarn is softer than Sugar and Cream. You can also use Lion’s Microspun - it’s an acrylic but very soft.

The nicer cottons are more money so it really depends on how much you want to spend. I like Tahki Cotton Classic myself. The yarn is soft and the colors stay vivid for a long time.

I buy mine at my local yarn store (LYS), but you can also buy it online.

If you want less expensive you might try this one. It’s softer than the dishcloth cotton.

Bernat Cottontots

 I went to the Tahki site and found a store close to where I live that sells this yarn. Wow! I love this yarn and the colors are cool. Thanks again for telling me about this yarn.

You’re welcome! Your yarn store will appreciate it, too.

If you’ve not been in a yarn store get ready to feast your eyes. :inlove: And if you’re game see if they have a social knitting night. I go every Friday night.

I’m with suzeeq on Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton!. It’s inexpensive and quite soft even before washing.

I’m using Bernet’s Cotton Yarn right now for my dishcloths and I like it. I don’t have experience with any other yarn, but I like it & mom loves her dishcloths!

Hey Jan, thanks for the link - what wonderful colours. If you were to knit a sweater with that cotton yarn would it be a nice summer style garment (not too hot)?
