This morning, we just got notices of a surprise baby shower for a gal at work. The shower is on the 3rd, so there’s not much time…
I was thinking about trying to whip up some quick booties, but my google search did not have me finding anything I like.
I envision white, lacey booties with pink ribbon threading around the top. My daughter was given a pair like this when she was born, and they were so dainty and pretty.
I was also thinking that I could either make a quick hat to match or maybe a bib or two.
I’ve also got to consider the fact that I am still swamped with my college classes, so I’ll mainly have Sunday to get these done.
I was looking for a specific pattern that I made with this Lorna’s Lace Angel yarn that sounds exactly like what you said. The pattern came with the yarn. Anyway, all it was was an eyelet one at the top and you can run the ribbon through those holes…
I’m going to a baby shower this weekend, and am currently in the progress of the shadow stripes hat and sox. I’ve finished the hat, it only took a couple hours. I didn’t do the top knot, and did a k2p2 ribbing, which was a little faster to do. I’m also planning on knitting up a couple cute washcloths. There are several cute animal ones on this website.
Did y’all see the tiger hat?? Oh my gosh!!! I may have to go ahead and make this when I have time and stick it in the hope chest for when my kids get older (waaaayyyyyy older) and have kids of their own…being Auburn fans and all…
The other hats on that page are cute too! I think I’ll probably do the lacy hat.
Do y’all have a suggestion of what kind of yarn I could substitute for the Rowan Wool Cotton? Something I could pick up at a Walmart, Michaels, Joanne’s, or Hobby Lobby? Plus, this is going to be a summer baby, so it wouldn’t need to be heavy.
Gauge is supposed to be: “Lacy - 28 rows and 24 stitches over 10cm”
I did a quick conversion…10cm = 3.9 inches. So that would be 6 stitches per inch, right? I guess whatever I substitute would need to equal that.
Oh my goodness! These patterns are just adorable!!! I really like the affect on the hat! I changed my mind…I’m going to make this hat and sock set. While the socks aren’t what I envisioned, I think these will work just fine.
And I LOVE the patterns for the cloths! I don’t think I’ll have time to do them, but I’m bookmarking them.
Lisa, thanks for the link. I’ll probably head over to Joanne’s today. It’s a convenient stop on my errand-filled afternoon.
