Looking for men's hat ideas

Hello Everyone, On top of the world stressing about C-19, I am worried about my Dad. He was just diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and they are going to start him on radiation soon so I was thinking of making him a hat for if he looses his hair. I am in Maine and he is Washington state. The weather is about the same except they get more rain. I am looking for some knitting or crochet ideas for a hat for Washington State weather. Please send me your ideas. Thank you April

That’s so sweet of you. :heartbeat:

Warmth is partly due to the type of yarn. Animal fiber is the warmest, but it’s often to scratchy for people undergoing cancer treatment. Here’s a link with some suggested yarn choices if you don’t want to use animal fibers. Are you looking for patterns, too?

I am sorry you have to worry about your dad and hope all goes well with his treatments!

I don’t know if this is what you are looking for, but she has created some nice knitting patterns for hats for men.

Thank you very much for this list i did not know about the yarn issue with cancer patients. I have a hobby near by and will be going there today. Thank you again for your help.

Not so much for the weather but for the comfort and the fact that it can be easily sterilized (which would be important for someone undergoing cancer treatment even without covid19) I would go with cotton.
