I am looking for a pattern from McCall’s Needlework magazine published sometime during the mid to late 1950’s. My late mother used to knit this stocking for all members of the family (she made around 100 of these stockings). She passed away in 2007 and I could not find a copy of the pattern in her house, apparently she knit them from memory. We have two new members joining the family soon and I would love to carry on the tradition. The stocking is primarily red, the entire background is bright red, with a white band across the top that has the person’s name, a large Santa’s face that makes up the majority of the leg portion, white heel and white toe with dark green bells across the foot portion of the stocking. If anyone knows what issue it was printed in I would so appreciate it. I’m sure once I locate the issue date I can find a copy on-line.
Thanks again!
Leslie
Try joining ravelry and posting in the “pattern detectives” group. Just go to www.ravelry.com. It takes a couple of days to be “invited”, but it’s free.
Did you ever find the pattern. I would like it.
Thanks
Deborah
Are you wanting the one with Santa and the candy cane? I have that one. You can find them here:
