Hi. I’m looking for a pattern for a baby cardigan (9 months to 1 year ish) that uses cashmerino dk yarn and straight needles.
(I went out and bought some beautiful Debbie Bliss cashmerino dk yarn but then realised that all of the patterns I have use baby cashmerino and not cashmerino dk. (I’m a complete novice, so I wouldn’t have a clue how to go about adapting patterns, and I would hate to ruin such expensive wool.))
If anyone could help pattern-wise, I’d really, really appreciate it.
Thanks

Not sure if all links work or not… But here are a few for yeah
Cashmerino DK has a tension (gauge) of 22 stitches per 10cm… am I right? If so, and you’re happy to buy a pattern, any of the Sirdar Snuggly DK pattern leaflets would be fine as that is the same tension. Sirdar has very good patterns, clearly written and a lot to choose from, and there are many to be bought, at good prices, on UK eBay. Other lovely Sirdar baby patterns are the Sirdar Baby Bamboo patterns - I’m presently knitting my second cardigan from pattern leaflet number 1752 and it is modern, cute and easy to knit.
Another one which would look pretty in the Cashmerino is the Sublime pixie hoodie. It’s in one of the Sublime pattern books, but its also available free on the web -

I’ve knitted it and was very happy with it -
My only modification was to knit moss (seed) stitch bands round the bottom instead of doing a rolled edge as in the pattern. I think the moss stitch border looks nicer.
You could also try a library for baby pattern books. As long as the pattern specifies a tension of 22 stitches per 10cm you’ll be fine, and that is the most common DK tension anyway… there are many, many baby patterns which use it. I’ve often borrowed some of the Rowan or Debbie Bliss etc hard cover books and taken copies of patterns I like.
I couldn’t get most of these to work
Thank you all for your replies. Miss_Molly, that pixie hoodie you made is really beautiful. I think I’ll give it a go.
