Any advice on how to line a baby blanket? Any recommendations for fabric would be appreciated. The yarn used is Pima cotton from We are Knitters. Project looks nice from the front but because of the intarsia and duplicate stitching used, the back looks pretty messy.
Thank you!!!

I’ve made several baby blankets that needed lining. I used a cotton from the quilt store (because of the large selection of cute prints) and washed and ironed the lining before using it.
This method works quite well.

I use a sheet or get the flame retardant fabric designed for infants… hem it and then stitch it by hand to the back of the blanket.
Great tutorial. Thank you!!!
Baby lamb blanket is finally finished. My daughter knitted the blanket and I used duplicate stitch to add the lambs. I wanted to thank you again for the tutorial on how to line a blanket. It was terrific. The only thing I did differently was to pin the blanket down on the fabric before sewing the edges (rather than “knotting” the flannel to the knitted work). My first attempt. Not perfect but hopefully my daughter will be pleased with the outcome. Truly team work!!!

It is so well done and the lining is perfect! Beautiful knitting and it’ll be so much fun going over the names of all the barnyard friends.
