Hereās a list of yarn stores in NCā¦with reviews, telling you what services they offer:
Hi
Thanks for your response, however I did not see any for Greenville, NC. Do you think I should try Michealās or maybe they could refer me to a knitter in town?
alc
WOW! You really are in the middle of nowhere! The closest one is about 90 miles from you, poor thing!
The Michaels near me DOES have knitting classes every once in a whileā¦but, have you checked out the āGetting Startedā videos here? They really are VERY good.
Hello
I donāt know how far you are from Jacksonville, NC, but there is Phootsyās Yarn Cottage there that offers alot of classes.
Dawn
You are in Eastern NC and unfortunately, there arenāt many yarn shops in those āpartsāā¦I am originally from Dunn (near Raleigh)ā¦I heard that there was a yarn shop in Wilson, which is about 45 minutes from youā¦I googled and here is the info:
Knit Wit of Wilson
Barbara Frantz, 2801-1B Ward Boulevard North, Wilson, NC 27896, 919.291.8149
Also, you arenāt but about an hour from Raleigh and Caryā¦a couple of nice shops in those citiesā¦BUTā¦I would recommend that you buy the SNB book and WATCH AMYāS VIDEOS as well as ask questions when you get āstuckāā¦I havenāt taken an official class and have learned almost everything thus far from KNITTINGHELP.COMā¦I think youāll find that you can learn almost anything here and with the SNB bookā¦this is one great site :cheering:
Joyce
What is the SNB book? Thanks!
alc
Itās a book by Debbie Stollerā¦Official name is Stitch 'N Bitch and you can purchase it online through Barnes and Noble or Amazon and most book stores carry the book. Itās a very good reference book when youāre just beginning.
I think the videos on KNITTINGHELP.COM will help you more than anything elseā¦just start from the āGetting Startedā tab above, then go through the basic technique videosā¦IMO-continental knitting is the way to go for ease of learning, but again, that is personal preferenceā¦the continental videos are the ones with the pink icons.
I started knitting in November, 2004ā¦was shown how to do only the knit stitch and purchased the SNB bookā¦I didnāt find this site until January and have found it to be like having a teacher onlineā¦and without feeling the pressure of a āclassā  There are some great knitters on this forum and theyāre always willing to help. Just rememberā¦do not get too frustratedā¦it takes lots of practice and thereās always something to learn or ways to improve your technique once you do get the hang of itā¦soon, you will find yourself :XX:

I canāt believe it! I just came on line looking for the exact same thing. I will be moving from Massachusetts to Greenville at the end of the summer and love to knit. I am currently in a knitting group and will miss it when I leave. I also want to find other knitters in the greenville area.
Iām in Goldsboro, NC and couldnāt find anything around here either Thank goodness for Knitting Help!
Hi,
I will be moving to Greenville, NC in a few weeks and would love to meet up with other knitters! I saw the previous threads on finding someone to teach them and I would be happy to get together for that as well. I would consider myself a beginner, but would be happy to share what I know. I would also love to hear from other knitters in the area. It is always nice to be inspired to knit!
