I checked my LYS yesterday. They only carried it in WW. She said she could order for me but it would take a week. Unfortunately the LYS is 45 minutes away and I rarely go out that way unless I just need something because of the gas. So I’m afraid I can’t donate any squares
Unless someone has some yarn and wants to send me some, I wont be able to help. Sorry Shandeh. I hope you get enough squares to make a blanket or two up!

Did ya get my package yet? Its coming from Oregon.:waving:
That’s okay, my friend.
You help out on so many other charity projects.
Not yet…but I’m watching for my hunky postman. :teehee:
I got 1 square done today and will make you some more. Can you give me your address please :teehee:
Woo Hoo! I got your package yesterday! :cheering:
Thank you so much!

Yay!!! That’s WONDERFUL! Now, we will definitely have enough to make our baby blanket! I’ll send you a private message.
Here is a photo of all our squares so far. Lookin’ GOOD!
:cheering: :woohoo: :cheering:

We only need 2 more squares to make a blanket!
I’m going to keep making squares until April 15th, so if anyone wants to make a square and mail it to me by that date, we might have enough to make TWO blankets!
yeah! Looks great! :cheering:
I think so too! Thank you both for your help!
I will be sure to mention both of your names when I send the blanket.
If anyone else wants to send squares, I might be able to make ANOTHER blanket in time! :woohoo:
I’ll keep making squares myself. :knitting:
I even gave a skein of yarn to a couple of my piano students tonight. They will be crocheting a couple squares.
So, it’s not too late! If you want to send a 10 inch square, made with Lamb’s Pride Bulky yarn to me, it just needs to get to me by April 15th.

Here’s my 3 squares.Sandy can I make 3 more out of the lite purple in the picture?I know you said no lite colors that’s why I’m asking.I do have a skein of brown I could use instead.
Thank you, momwolf! They are GORGEOUS!
I think the light purple would be very nice as well.

I just made a blog for our Bulky Wool Squares!
http://bulkywoolcharity.blogspot.com/
Yesterday, one of my piano students gave me a square that she crocheted for our blanket!

Right now, we have 14 completed squares, and I’m starting another one now. So we need 9 more squares to make another blanket!
If you want to make a square, I need to receive it from you by April 15th!

I’m sending you 5 today :teehee: So now you only need 4 more :cheering:
Hi everyone! Since Sandy is busy for the next few days I thought I’d see if anyone could help me. I thought this square would be SO simple to knit, but knitting has a way of keeping me humble.
My finished square ended up being 11-1/2 inches. I measured as I went along and stopped at 10 inches when doing the increase side, and then started the decrease side.
I obviously didn’t measure correctly but I don’t know where I went wrong. I don’t have much experience with wool, so should I have stretched it out before I measured it? Is it better to knit it a little short and then stretch and block it?
Also, were you able to get two squares from one skein of yarn? It doesn’t look like I’m going to have enough yarn for a second square.
McKnitty I had trouble too. I’m so used to just co and doing my thing, I never really measure anything. So I just kept experiemneting. I ended up using 10 and half size needles instead and fewer stithces. I think it was 45 or something like that. I just just kept knitting till it came out about right. You’ll get there too
Thanks, feministmama! I was feeling awful that I could mess up such an ‘easy’ pattern. Maybe I’ve been knitting in the round for so long that I’ve became square challenged!
I’m going to have to spend some quality time at the frog pond.
I’m back!
My craft room is now ready for my sweet hubby to have a corner in it. I hope that he will be okay with that little space. It’s all I could make room for!
McKnitty, I hope you were able to figure out your square.
Right now, I have 20 completed squares, and I’m working on 2 more. So, I only need 2 more squares to have enough for two baby blankets! :woohoo:
On Saturday, I received a package from momwolf, containing 5 purple squares!

Glad they made it there. Thanks for letting me help on such a wonderful project
And thanks for all you do for charities :cheering:
