I’m currently practicing Lace knitting…
I’m working with Lace::7 – a zigzag motif with a hint of lace…which I found on knitca…
I don’t understand a set of directions:
Row 1… purl 1 stitch, knit 3 stitches, knit 2 stitches together, knit 1 stitch, 1 yarn over, repeat from * to * as necessary, purl last stitch.
OK… now Row 2 and every wrong side row: WORK STITCHES AS THEY APPEAR. WHAT does this mean?
Also, I’m trying the pattern Quite Contrary… very pretty found on Ravelry… Doing the Cockleshell pattern:
Note: Slip the first stitch of every row… ok… now I’m jumping to row 7:
Row 7: k7, (yo2, p2tog) twice, k11, (p2tog yo2)twice, k7. (37 sets.)
ok…I slip the first stitch as stated in the note, k7, now I am going to do what’s in the ( ) twice, correct? and after k11, I’ll be doing what’s in parenthesis twice again… right? … I seem to get 38 stitches… not 37… what am I doing incorrectly?
Thanks so much for all your help.
Warmly,
