KTBL previous stitch?

Hello, I’m swatching the charted section of a top down sweater. It’s has a two color circular yoke design. The first round is just knit, the second round is an increase round and then the third round states: “knit the previous stitch through the back loop using your contrast color” (or main color). Each of these stitches is directly above the yarn-overs in the increase round. I don’t understand what is meant by “previous stitch”. Does anyone have experience with this instruction? Thank you!

What pattern are you using? Could you share a link please, even if it’s paid.

It says to knit into the stitch below? It sounds like a left leaning lifted increase as I read it. Someone will know.

It might be a way of closing up the yarn over from the previous row. If so, I agree that “previous stitch” is a confusing way to refer to it.
On one row you yarn over and on the next row ktbl through the yarn over to close up the hole created by the yarn over. It’s sort of a simpler, looser M1 worked over 2 rows.
